What resources do you use to determine the safety and effectiveness of complementary and alternative medicine?

I didnt know much about complementary and alternative medicine until after I was a RN. My first job out of nursing school was working for a Naturopathic doctor. When I got the job I didnt even know that sort of practitioner existed. I have to say working for her was one of the best things that ever happed to me. I obviously believe in Western medicine being a nurse, but I think a whole body approach is much better for the individuals that we treat. Working for this naturopath I learned about vitamins, herbs and homeopathy. Although many of the treatments arent back by the FDA there are other ways to determine if it
